| Vista Home premium 32 bit | Windows Security Warning Yesterday I installed Kodak EasyShare software and had problems with it. Today when I booted I notice that I have that red icon with the white X showing Windows Security Alert. When I open that it says that Windows Defender and Spyware Doctor are turned off, and that is the way it has always been and is supposed to be. I have BitDefender Internet Security 2009 and it shows that "No issue affects your computer." I deactivated Windows Defender right from the beginning, and altho I have Spyware Doctor, it does not run at start up and none of the real time protection is enabled even when I do open it and updated it to run a scan. I figured this must be another one of those problems with EasyShare so today I used Revo Uninstaller and removed that software, but after reboot I'm still showing this Windows Security Alert. Can anyone tell me what to do about this? |

| Vista Home premium 32 bit | Re: Windows Security Warning I really appreciate your response, but I'm still more interested in finding out what caused this and fix it without turning off the security center alert system. It's always worked fine so something must have happened to cause it. |

| Vista Home Premium 64bit SP2 | Re: Windows Security Warning if windows defender is turned off there is no other way to stop it informing you , the only way is to turn it off as i suggested. But so your saying its been fine up to now , you have changed nothing and its started happening all of a sudden? thats very odd , ive no idea why that would happen |
