WordPerfect Problems in Vista 64-Bit

I am running WordPerfect x4 (WP 14) in Vista Home Premium 64-bit. It works, but there are long (45 seconds or so) delays when opening or closing a file. It can take up to one minute for the printer to respond to a command and start printing. When I open WP, it takes 30 seconds or so for the program to go into the default font (it opens with the basic, WP default font and takes that long to switch to the font I have set as the default.)

I have heard that if you are having trouble with a program in Vista, you should right click on the program icon and select Run as Administrator, opening the program in that fashion.

I have two problems. The first is the one described above, with getting my version of WP to run smoothly and quickly in Vista. The second one is, when I try to right click on the WP program icon, the menu that comes up does not contain Run as Administrator as an option.

Just for kicks, I right clicked on every other shortcut on my desk top - every one of them allows Run as Administrator as an option. Not WP.

What is up with that? How can I run WP "as administrator"? And will that fix my general problem with WP? If not, what will?

With all due respect to the moderator who moved this thread - WordPerfect is not a Microsoft Office product. The Microcsoft Office word processor is Word.

WordPerfect is a Corel product.

If it is like Word and Excel, right click then on properties and then advanced to get the Run as Adminsistrator.

Thanks. I found the culprit. The desktop icon I was using was the one that got installed on my desktop when I installed WPx4. I went to the actual program icon by navigating to the program files in Windows Explorer, made a shortcut of that icon and put it on my desktop, deleting the original one. When I right click on the actual program icon shortcut, I get the "Run as Administrator" option.

Footnote: It didn't help. The problems still exist with WPx4 trying to run in Vista, i.e., long delays in opening and closing files, major delays on the print command, delay in opening the program, etc.
