Hello,

I am using Vista Home Basic. I have pre installed Windows Firewall & Windows Firewall with advanced security. I have also got Norton 360. I recently tried to download Mozilla Firefox, but it wouldnt work and said that i had to allow it through my firewall, I did but it still said that. Same with Spotify. And i cant acsess Norton. It says i need to update - i updated a month ago !

Why give yourself headaches, use Microsoft Security Essentials, recommened by most of the staff, works great with windows and it is free. Norton will charge a yearly fee for the virus updates. I think that if you research MSE and use it you will be glad that you did.

Just to add to richc46 sound advice, does Norton 360 not have its own firewall??

I am not sure i am just assuming as i am not familiar with Norton 360, If so you should not run 2 firewalls as they can conflict and is probably where your problem is stemming from.

You should also update your Security software everyday.

You can either turn one off or follow what Rich has advised and use MSE with the Windows Firewall which is a very good combination of free & also very highly recommended Security that you will find unproblematic

If you decide to go with this option it is advised to run the Norton removal tool after you uninstall & before installing another Security option.
