Well, I don't think I need to run it again. I mean, it takes over five hours each time I run it. The information can't be much different. I ran it with the database that was the most up to date at the time.

unlocker might have helped here as well.

Download Unlocker 1.9.1 - FileHippo.com
Just got up , I see mbam shows clean, wow, 5 hours, mine takes hour and 1/2, you must have alot of files. Looks like with you having this restore issue , some files are missing, you may have to use ilikefree's link, i am not sure what that does . I am leaning towards a repair install, are you able to do that : http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/88236-repair-install-vista.html This may be the only way to replace those files .

ilikefree's link looks to pretty much be a tool that can force permissions. It won't help in getting the files back for the system restore. I look into the repair install. For the time being I'll just live with what I have. Thank you all again for your assistance. Take care!

K, good luck , you really need to have a system restore working for you tho. The repair install will not harm your programs you have installed, yanno there is another Tutorial that may interest you : http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/261616-extract-files-vista-installation-dvd.html and maybe this one : ShadowExplorer - Recover Lost Files and Folders - Windows 7 Forums This one will only help if you have any restore points, i am thinking of the extracting needed files with the first one here .
