After forced Service Pack 2 update, PC wont start :(

the ISO CD i burned is not doing anything... It doesn't even say PRESS ANY KEY TO BOOT FROM CD..it just does nothing....after minutes of waiting i restarted....still the same...pffffft =(

Try another tool,try this one HDDGURU: MHDD
(this tool is also bootable)

If it fail too,go to BIOS and make sure your HDD is detected by BIOS (this means available on IDE controllers)

What kind of information? This is SP2 for XP not for Vista.He tried install SP2 for Vista standalone without success

I'm having a similar problem, This is the third time I've tried to update to SP2 and was able to do a system restore the last two times. I've been messing with this for about a month The error I'm getting this time is;
0xc0190002 579/5842 (cmdial32.dll) I've done startup repair several times but no luck I'm going to try a restore and hope fully that will work. after I get this pig going I'll have more info..... Does any one know what this error means?

Did not restore, Safe start new error 0xc0190036 947/ 5842 unreggmp2.exe

I'm going to try a reinstall wish me luck
