Solved Bios update help

i now have all boot procedures set to cdrom ,i got sfe mode and start windows normally page up and its got the green microsoft lines going across the page and the same dam error apears

Forget about safe mode, don't press F8 just boot from the CD.

im doing what you ask that was the page that came up i dint click f8 i started windows normally and i still get the same error message

just removed the video card what do i plug the monitor into now

Please put the video card back in, just concentrate on one thing at a time.


I just booted into my Memtest CD to make sure; when the CD boots it goes straight in to Memtest and starts testing (the same version I linked to you) you must not have the CD drive set as first in the boot order or Memtest would start up, either that or the disk didn't burn correctly.

Yes click the free download at the left then make this selection.

ok so ive save it to my desktop as it wont let me save it to the cd ,can i send it to my cd via the desktop

just a thought can i take out my mem sticks and run them on my other pc and do the mem test from there .

ok ive worked out how to download a iso file ,still wont boot from cd and same error is there ,i took out the cmos battery but its still there .any ideas

Well well i took out one of the 2 gb sticks and booted from the vista cd and bugger me it goes through to the next stage .Huge thanks Barefoot kid ,for your patience .

I'm sorry I had to leave you, I had to get some rest.


I'm glad we were right about it being the RAM, when the PSU went it must have taken one of the sticks of RAM with it, I'd still test the RAM. Thanks for the update.

Just because I'm curious: in the start menu search box type "winver" (without the quotes) and tell me the version number.

Gday again mate well i ran the mem test by taking out each stick ,ran it for 40 mins with no errors on each,yahooooooooo .Thanks again for your help ,just another quick question how do i make the font darker it seems to be light and the letters are broken ,if that makes any sence .
