Bootmgr is missing... Big problem

If you have an install DVd and not a repair DVD, everything is on the DVD, just boot form it.

Thats what I dont understand, if you boot from the CD, everything should be there. If I had to say why this is happening, my guess would be you are not booting from the CD. To do a clean install everything is formatted, its removed, so how can you be missing the bootmgr file.
or
Maybe its not really an install DVD.

Perhaps I burned a bad recovery CD. Could you provide me with any links that would allow me to download one that would work.

Also, when I boot from the cd, I do not get the bootmgr is missing... Just if o attempt to install vista from the cd it says some file os missing... I'm very confused and appreciate all your help.

My Computer

We are having the communication problem, again. There are two types of CDs one is to repair the OS
The other is to install.
You cannot download the install DVD, you can just download a repair DVD.
I dont think that you have an install DVD.

Where did you get your DVD, give me a link to the site.

Sorry about that... I do not have the link but I am 100% sure it was a recovery disk as I heard that was the way to fix a bootmgr missing error.

Also, If I just go out and buy a whole new OS from walmart, will all this be fixed because right now I'm thinking I just messed up so bad an it will not be fixed.

Assuming that you have a recovery DVD, everything makes sense. You cannot install the OS form an recovery DVD
This is what I suggest.
Try form the article that I sent you.
If that does not work, call the company that sold you the computer, with Vista, and tell them you want an install DVD for cost, which is about $25.00
or
You could buy upgrade Windows 7 for about $135.00, if you computer can handle it. YOu can find that out from here:

If you do not have an install DVD, not much more that I can do. Read my prior post and get an installation DVD, the cost will be about $25.00

It is fine. I am just going to get the instalation disk when I get the chance and pray that works. Thanks again for the help.

My Computer

The DVD should work. If the computer does not boot, just post. I will get the tutorial on how to change boot priority.
The very best of luck
