Solved BSOD back, don't really understand why either...

well, from what i know, no, it was originally 2GB, but to improve the computer's performance, a friend helped me add in another 1GB

I was not able to interject earlier because my software for reading the files was not working, but now I am back in business. The only thing that can be obtained from your files that it is probably hardware. This general information is the best that can be done at this point

Ram must be matching in speed and size, When you added a one gig Ram module with a two gig Ram module is where your error is , in my opinion. To have 3 gigs of Ram , as you have done, would be proper to have 2 sticks of matching size and speed that are proper for your motherboard. Best bet is to acquire another 2 gig that matches the one you have already and to remove that one gig Ram. In fact, you would be better off in just removing that one gig of Ram and just use the 2gig Ram that came with the computer originally.
That is my thoughts on your Ram. Hope you get this sorted out.
