Cannot solve BSOD problem (possibly a driver)

Somehow my Administrator accounts don't have very many permissions to do things, I will have to check out my local security policy and see whats up.

*Edit* This site is invaluable in learning about gaining permissions/ownership. http://www.tipandtrick.net/2008/how...ol-permissions-of-files-and-folders-in-vista/
I now can actually control my system. ridiculous, but I learned something I guess...

Say, Back on testing my ram with memtest, do I test individual RAM on just the first slot to find out if they are good or not? And then test trusted ram in all the other slots to test the slots themselves?

Once you show errors, your can send it back to most reputable companies with a RMA, return merchandise approval. They will check and send new, if defective, depending on terms of guarantee.

Okay, thanks so much for all your help rich, I will do that. You're great
Um, is the computer supposed to shut down after the test completes? cause I tested the first stick of RAM and I didn't get a report, came home and the computer was off. Could it be that the RAM is bad?

I apparently am still working with permissions and ownership of files, cause though I changed all C: drive files over as owned by administrators, a few were denied. an example: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE>SYSTEM>CurrentControlSet>Services>DPS>Parameters
This file will not allow me permissions. I cannot gain full control no matter what I do, and it says "Unable to save permission changes on Parameters. Access is denied."

Can you or anyone else tell me why I, as an administrator, am denied full control on something I should in no way for any reason be denied? If I wanted full security and no user control, I'd switch to a mac. But thats not what I want, is it? Maybe I should try out Ubuntu. Only reason I haven't is because most programs are geared toward windows.

lol sometimes windows is aggravating. Does anyone know how I can change this?

As far as I know it should give a report, not shut down. You may want to try again

Here is the official manual. I will make it a part of my regular repair routine in the future.

Protected system programs are owned by trusted installer. It is suggested that you do not tamper with protected files or systems. If you require control, these instructions will be followed to give you ownership
