Right, this is to fix SFC. Hopefully it will do just that! After this, we can look into any remaining problems (including SFC if necessary) BTW, this script is more powerful than most you will find online for this error, so I recommend you use mine!

No harm in trying this. You say that you are using 32bit. All of these SysWOW64 ones are for 64bit. I also suspect that this was written for Windows XP, but will definitely do some good in Vista, and no harm, so we will try it!

Here is a converted batch file. I have grouped the ones that should fail and succeed. If any fail in the succeed section, please tell me

If that registry script really does not import, it implies to me that your registry must be different to the script, and cannot be overwritten at this time. I feel that another two registry exports are required. Sorry.

We will get this sorted! Stick with me! I know what I am doing (well...sort of)

Please export for me these two registry branches, just as last time. Then we can do some manual registry fixing, or use some more powerful tools, and then after that, SFC should work. It will be interesting to see if this fixes vssadmin as well.

I hope you managed to get off nights last night! I don't when or if America uses daylight saving (clock changes) but last night (for the UK anyway) was the night of the clocks going backwards and getting an extra hour of night work. Anyway!

Can you zip it up please? I kind of need to see it. It is an error in two of these sub keys that has caused SFC to error, and possibly vssadmin as well.

Please go Run dialogue or Search: services.msc.

Now scroll down to Windows Modules Installer, and Start it. If it generates an error message on startup, then that is your problem! Please tell me the error message and code exactly. In theory at least it should be impossible to get error code 1068, as this service is absolved, but we shall see!
