Thanks, easy with a good model. Would like to get a cat like that when my current pass on. They are expensive and hard to get though, cost like a top monitor.

Lovely cats everyone.
As an ex feline owner living way across a big pond, I have some questions to ask.
1. Is the choice of pet determined by style of property one lives in, or by the personality / preference of the pet owner?
2. What regulations exist regarding cat's being allowed free time outside?
3. Is there a night curfew?
4. Do you pay licence fees? [ If so is the fee reduced for a neutered pet?]
5. Is the relationship with your cat/s two way? Do both parties give & receive?

1-yes, and yes. I think type of property determines the number of cats more than the type.
2-I have screened in porches and the cats have full access in spring, summer, and fall. they are vaccinated, neutered, and trained to come on call.
3- Yep Cats in at night. there are bears, dogs, etc
4- yes of course, fee is the same for neutered or not, but there is lost cost neuter/spay available for residents ($25us)
5-Two way relationship of course, some time the people lead sometimes the cats do.

1- Yes, we live in a coastal village and a bungalow so can have whatever pet we want, at the moment it's guinea pigs and cat.
2- He is allowed in and out whenever he wants and it depends on the weather if he's in or out.
3- I always make sure they are in at night.
4- No licence fee but mine are castrated, vaccinated, microchipped and insured even if they are only moggies.
5- Two way of course it goes without saying we get as much as he gives.

1. In my case, I am too lazy for a dog, had a German Shepard in the past. Also easier to travel abroad if you have a cat (but sometimes more difficult to travel in homecountry of course), as they are easier to leave with someone else.
2. No explicit ban, but you can get into trouble if they cause damage.
3. No.
4. No, nowaydays neither for cats nor dogs. There used to be for dogs but the admin was to expensive for the tax authorities so it did not pay off to keep it.
5. Of course.

Im totally in favor of fees to encourage pet owners to do the right thing. Im curious about the "entire cat" line. can you only do part of a cat?<g>

Hello Milo, Hello Ken, :)
Yes indeed you can register part of a cat - it's not on a sliding scale ie half a cat $44.00. It's a little more complicated. I don't know how to put it delicately, but I'll try.
WARNING - NOT FOR VIEWERS UNDER 15 YEARS OF AGE.
Milo will know this, but for you Ken - there are daddy cats & mummy cats, & there's birds & there are bees. See where I am heading????
So the scale now reads -
Entire Cat $88.00
99% of the cat with one testicle $53
98% of the cat with no testicles $18
Any other % you wish to register subject to negotiation.
Flat cats - you may get a refund.

Cats are the best! They clean themselves, won't poo one your carpet, and aren't big enough to get in the way!...

zigzag 3143, You will have to excuse me popping in again to the cat domain, but as defender of the dogs I can't let that go unchallenged.:p
I've seen cats that are so big & lazy that they don't clean themselves, do get in the way & poo & wee inside where they shouldn't.;) My Lab is well trained & is very clean in all her habits .

Dogs are better behaved than cats. [& most of the "me, me, me" generation of children]
Never any food wastage when you have a dog
They provide mobility for the blind, companionship for the elderly etc.
Dogs are used in security to sniff out contraband - explosives - illegal food stuffs - drugs.
They are sensitive to your mood & act accordingly.
They help in medicine in the detection [sniffing ] of some cancers.
Dogs add security to your property.
I could go on & on, but won't. :p

Dog's work while cat's sit on their fat a***s.
Discerning dogs are a good judge of other domestic animals - they generally hate cats.

Aye dogs are useful in so many ways it would take hours to type it all out.Cats are only good for companionship and killing vermin IMO.If you don't have mice or rats what are you left with and is it worth vet bills, litter, food, etc etc.My $0.02 on cat vs dog.I had a persian growing up and the only thing it really did was sneak outside every damn time it got a chance and bring fleas in yay

Some dogs are useful some aren't, I like dogs we've often had dogs just not at the moment and that persian you had you could have put it in a harness to take it outside when it wanted to go out. My cat never brings fleas back he's treated every month so we don't see any. ;)
