CHKDSK due to improper shutdown and now NO INTERNET

I'm confused on the last post. I understand not to schedule a manual chkdsk. But are you telling me now just to restart and confirm that chkdsk doesn't run and last thing I did worked?

I confused about "Check again to see when chkdsk is finished, when it is...."

I just did that and it did stop chkdsk. Now I have to figure out why my wireless isn't being recognized. I am on the internet because I plugged in an ethernet cable from my router to PC.

Also my C drive still shows as dirty though. So I tried to do a manual chkdsk but it couldn't because is said it was in use. Should I schedule on restart? Will this make it always check it again?

Sorry to confuse! The above I read as 'could not do manual chkdsk because it was in use'! That chksdsk still running!
Yes I am asking you please would you again restart your computer.

Actually I'm sorry, it said volume was in use so I think because I am on the computer, C: is in use so it couldn't check it. I will restart now.

OK well that's good, it is one big problem solved is it not? Well done you!
Now to your internet!
Have you by any chance checked in Device Manager to see if anything requires updates, are showing a small yellow warning sign next to a device ?
If not right click on computer > click on properties > On the left hand side > click on device manager.
Appearing on the screen will be a list of devices, are there any yellow warning signs?

If there are the signs, then you have to right click and update the required deviceOK?
Please let me know the results.

NOthing shows a yellow warning sign and I am not sure the name of the device that goes with my internet but I know when I did an adapter check it failed. I just don't remember what I did to do that.

if you still having trouble with ur chkdsk scan on strt up this may help:First click Start> Run> bring up a command prompt by typing in "CMD" and type " fsutil dirty query d: ". This queries the drive, and more than likely it will tell you that it is dirty. Next, type "CHKNTFS /X D:". The X tells Windows to NOT check that particular drive on the next reboot. At this time, manually reboot your computer, it should not do a Chkdsk and take you directly to Windows, im kinda new so u may want to run this bye some1 with more exprs but i think this may help u, good luck Once Windows has fully loaded, bring up another CMD prompt and type and now you want to do a Chkdsk manually by typing "Chkdsk /f /r d:". This should take you through 5 stages of the scan and will unset that dirty bit. Finally, type "fsutil dirty query d:" and Windows will confirm that the dirty bit is not set on that drive. Good luck!

A most excellent thought out posting Jason.
That finally ended at least the 'non-stop' Chkdsk saga.
Well done

My issues have only gotten worse since I got chkdsk to stop running at startup. My computer now doesn't shut down properly and I still don't pick up wireless and I know this is all related to chkdsk the dirty driver issue that obviously isn't resolved. Please help.
