If I'm interpreting the following correctly, you should be able to use that CPU. However, I'll leave it to you to make the final determination since I''m not familiar with all these AMD products.

ASRock > Products > N68C-GS FX

I'll also leave it to you concerning the RAM.

I have no idea what a 750 ws black is.

Nice find on the 1066 cl5 ram. It'd be some pretty fast ddr2 ram. However, finding ddr3 1600 cl6 ram is better.

I would buy the ddr3 cl6 ram as its alot faster, and the timings are nearly the same, and most likely can be dropped to 1333 cl5 in the bios to get you tighter timings.

Along with that, ddr2 is dead, buying it is a waste when you can buy ddr3, which can be used on future builds.

You may, or may not beable to use the your old install of vista. But your harddrive is definately still good.
As for your if you have to reinstall vista, only the stuff in your profile, will be ssaved. However you could partion the drive into 2, and put it on to the 2nd part and it'll be safe.

Yes it supports DDR3 but, as stated, he needs a AM3 or AM3+ CPU to use it.

I assume your copy of Vista is a Retail version. If it was OEM, you probably can't use it on another system. If it's Retail, then you ought to be able to use it on the new system. Either way, the hdd is good on the new mobo since it supports SATA 3.

Aslong as your cpu is AM3, it should work just fine.

You may get very lucky and not need to reinstall windows if you keep the board in the amd 8'series line, i.e. 870->880g->890

now has for vista i buy the key from a guy that fix computer .
so when he get old case with the sticker in them he is keeping the key's .
so i pay 30.00 .
now i do have a couples here also .
if not come to worst i will call microsoft to the key's tranfer on my new board .
i hate talking on the phone because am french .

You should look for Microsoft canada's phone number. They have a french department! Or i believe they do as I think you have to here.
