I also suggest using a free imaging app. - macrium free is popular. Macrium Reflect FREE Edition - Information and download
When you have installed SP2 and all the updates - ( that will be quite a job ), then make an image using macrium.
You can always reapply that image instead of reinstalling and save yourself a lot of time.
