All I can tell you guys is to try them in another machine. If you feel up to it, you could also try a Repair Install. The tutorial is written with Windows 7 in mind, but it also applies to Vista.

Well i just got windows 7 today, so i am going to install it later, hopefully it will work in windows 7, i really dont want to get a new dvd drive if i can help it
