error code BIOHD-8 and BSOD crashes help

Yes, use EaseUD Partition. When it opens, it should find both hard drives. Does it? For the problem drive, does it show the partition with your personal files?

On EaseUS partition it shows my new current drive and another that says unallocated space with the total capacity of my old hard drive. When I go to Disk Management on my computer it shows the partitions on this new computer and it says 'Disk 0' new to the partitions. For my old hdd it says 'Disk 5' and it shows all the partitions and the capacity space on each one but it's not accessable. On the "File System' category it says 'RAW' for the partitions on my old hdd while on the new one it says "NTFS'. When I click on them it only tells me I need to format the disk before i can use it but I don't wont to format it cause I know it will erase my data.

Also I found this link that points to other apps that can recover data from bad sectors.

In EaseUS, it should show two disks- Note that my disks are both installed using SATA cables to the mobo.

I think EaseUS is the app you want. We just have to find your old drive.
Perhaps you can provide a screenshot of what it shows.

yes thats how it looks on EaseUS but the Disk 6 says Unallocated. I am tempted to use this 'Spinrite' app that is mentioned on the above thread. Seems to be the right cure for my problem.

With the desired screen showing, go to Startup\Programs\Accessories and find the Snipping Tool. Launch it. you're screen will blur.

Click in a corner of the screen you want to make a screenshot of, and while holding the button down, outline the entire screen. When you release the button, a new screen showing the screenshot outlined in red will appear. Select file, save as. give it a name and save it. Upload it here using the attachment (paperclip) feature.

When you click on Disc 6, you can try the Check Partition or the Explore Partition. If that doesn't help, you can click on the Wizard and try to recover the partition. With such a large primary drive, I'm surprised you don't have it partitioned. If you did, you could try to copy the partition before you tried to recover it.

If I understand it correctly, you can't boot from that drive. You could try to repair the mbr from within EaseUse Partition. I'm assuming there's a problem with the mbr.

Well when I did the HD Diagnostic from my hard drive's manufacturer it told me I had bad sectors which is what caused my old computer not to boot windows cause the sectors it needed to read from to boot may be damaged. I have read that thread from the link I just posted and I'm more convinced now that Spinrite is the program that will get me pass through this mess. I'm going to find out more about it.

I believe I have had this error code for a year, maybe more.
Not too sure of the symptoms of a BIOHD-8 error on the HP self tests, seems like my programs were just hanging up and the odd system crash. Thats one of the main reasons I bought a SSD hard drive, its much quicker on bootup, restarts and certain other programs like CCleaner. Its been probably more like 2 years I've had this error code.
