After sp2 is installed there is a built in clean up tool you can also use.
Open an elevated command prompt and type
compcln.exe
Then Y to confirm.

Just a little guess. Go to the computer icon on your desktop, right click and go to properties. Do you see Vista SP2 and do you see the Microsoft Validation in the lower right corner?

Hello!
Have you tried temporarily disabling all anti-malware tools? This includes everything real time, such as your anti-virus, Webroot, Tea Timer, absolutely everything. These tools sometimes block a file from being replaced, and is one of the primary causes of errors such as these, such as error 1935 when installing the Visual C++ Runtimes.
After that, please make sure you have run SFC (if you already have, then that is enough), make sure you have run the System Update Readiness Tool, and then upload the logs by copying the C:\Windows\Logs\CBS folder to your Desktop, right clicking on it > Send to > Compressed (zipped) folder, and uploading that new file.
