Flavius - Windows Update freezes computer

Flavius,

Windows update is the problem with my computer and my daughters computer. Independent build and software, but both Vista x64 Biz

Attached are the required files for identifying the issue,
Could you take a quick look?

The new zip file format is *.lzh

i have renamed the extension *.zip so that it will upload, but it won't unzip, at least on winzip 14

In your log you have error

Failed to open Microsoft.WindowsUpdate page "", hr=80004005

This error may caused by various things,your CBS.log don't include things described here: Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008 service pack installation fails with error 0x80004005 so I doubt it's going on about strictly hardware issue thus I doubt it address to you although you may have any problems with any driver.

1.First try uninstall completely antivirus - many people report 3p security software can cause this error too.

2.Reset WU components in aggressive mode How do I reset Windows Update components?
3.Reregister WU libraries Repair & Fix Windows Updates with Fix WU Utility | The Windows Club

4.Update drivers for everything.Use this program Free Driver Update Software - Device Doctor
which can do quickly & easy (it's fully free version)

5.If nothing help disable services from 3p software (clean boot procedure) Perform a clean startup to determine whether background programs are interfering with your game or program
