Freezing after being idle.

I'd suspect hard drive first; however, there is more we can try before actually purchasing a new drive yet.

Flash the latest BIOS and run chkdsk as recommended here and here.

I tried going to the Asus website and it didn't have my motherboard listed. I received an I/O error of death and now my computer won't even boot; it just cycles through the repair options.

I tried to restore it to its factory settings and it gave me the Driver irql not less or equal error and listed storport.sys as the problem.

My hard drive was partitioned by HP; the model number is a6203w. Am I going to have to buy a whole new OS?

If you can get a new hard drive, you could just clone the old drive to the new one, using a tool such as CloneZilla.
