If you have run the system file checker and the reset program Ardneh linked you to then we need to get the help of someone else. He will need to see the cbs log. Here are the instructions for uploading.
You need to go to C:Windows,Logs,CBS,CBS.Log
Right click on the CBS.log, and select copy,
Right click on your Desktop, paste,
Right click on the new CBS.log on your Desktop > Send to > Compressed (zipped) folder
On your next post click on the paperclip icon and browse to the zip file and click upload.
Close the box when done.

Thanks for all the help guys, I picked another System Restore date and it was successful this time. Things seem to be generally fixed, though I wasn't able to open iTunes, as it said I was missing some files. I'll just have to re-download it. I've got some other issues going on that have mysteriously appeared since March 1, I'll start to troubleshoot them next. Thanks again for all the help!
