Hello Xdash,

One workaround that you could do is to have that folder with only the image or video file that you want to show as the thumbnail, then create a new subfolder in this folder for the rest of the files so that they will not be included with the thumbnail of the main folder.

Another workaround is to create a shortcut of this folder, and change the icon of the folder shortcut.

Hope this helps some,
Shawn

hey shawn thanks for that....
i have no idea how to go about converting these images to icons ....
i put one of the images just to test into my simply icon app but the quality was horrible and the icon was so tiny!
even pressing cntrl while scrolling on the mouse it was still pretty bad.
i would love to hook up one folder with all my movies that when i open it - i can see what one might call "dvd covers" as all the files or folders - kinda like looking at the wall at you local movie rental place.
do you think this is possible or should i look a little further into one of those movie cataloging programs : (
sad face 'cause id hate to install Another program just to make my eyes happy.
i mean it will be awesome for quickly navigating in the folder BUT i cant deny that id love the way it would look too.

A movie catalog program would probably give you more of what you are wanting in a easy to use interface. There's nothing wrong with installing a program. Just make sure that it's Vista compatible and have all the features that you want. It should be fine. :)

I have always found that the trial version of Axialis IconWorkshop a great program to use to make Vista icons with if you wanted to see how that looked.
