I am convinced Vista updates are problem

Is it possible that Vista updates are causing my web browsing and other network functions to fail.............frequently.

My problem is that I often cannot access any of my web browsers home pages.
My PS3 occasionally disconnects from Tversity, claiming a DNS error.

I have had this problem using both wired, and wireless connection to router.

Now these problems arose a short while back, and for no apparent reason.

I have been through the gammet of fixes, finally convinced it had to be the router, wbr-1310 d-link. Upped to Extreme N Gigabit router D-link, didn't seem to make difference. Tried re-installing Vista to factory default, and all seemed good for a few days, then problems arose again. Couldn't figure out what I did wrong.

Re-nstalled Vista, things were good for a while, then they arose a few days later, again.

After re-installing yesterday, and my machine working like the day i bought it, I woke up this morning thinking, "Maybe it is the updates from Windows". When I booted up my machine, it said, "windows has re-started to install updates".

Within an hour of seeing that notice, all my problems are back. Can't access Firefox's server, Ps3 acting up, and only way to get things (network stuff) to work again, for a while, is to reboot my Acer.

I am absolutely, sick and tired of Vista, I wish everybody who got suckered into buying this OS would get a free update to windows 7, but enough ranting.

Anyways, anyone heard of updates causing network problems. This is the only computer (and the newest one) in my network using Vista, and its the only one giving me grief.

Before the posters begin to give you yes and no answers, better make sure it is not a more serious problem

Do a full scan with your Antivirus

Download and use Malwarebytes and check for malware.

Better safe than sorry

After the last update, Windows shut completely down and nothing would re-boot my desktop. I had someone check it for me and re-install Vista. He said it was a bad patch in the update.

Hope others have had better luck.

Yes sir, I have done the virus scan. I use Spyware Doctor and am confident in it's report of no problems.

I have done another re-install, thank you kenny111111, and I have turned off automatic updating.....so I essentially have the computer I bought about 6 months ago.....and we'll see what happens over the next few days.

I appreciate all answers and will wait a few days and see what happens. Thanks all!!

Not a good idea to turn off Updates. That's just going to give you more problems.
