I Don't want to use XP anymore

i agree, i think that the only reason people hate vista is becasue XP has done so well and nothing can stand up to it (except mac) but vista has so many accesible features that make the computer experiecne that much better and easier to use!

My Computer

Some of this is true. I guess it depends what you are doing with Vista. If you are a network admin in charge of 100s of computers it's going to be a different experience than the home user. As a home user, I really appreciate Vista. I just got done working on my Friends computer. I just had to hook up a new modem and install three bits of software. It took me back to 2003.....that's 6 years ago now! XP just does not feel right after having Vista for a while.

installed crysis just after it, even though its on lower settings, it just feels sluggish compared to vista, i dont know if anybody has xp and vista for gaming, but surely they have realised the difference between the 2 OS'es

On my desktop PC (current PC i am typing this on) I had USB Device not recognized errors so I got pissed and put Vista x64 on it (currently on) and I wanted to try to go back to XP and NOPE won't work. Keeps blue screening during installation... So I am stuck with Vista for a bit..

Gonna upgrade my mobo to eVGA 750i FTW model and try to go back to XP.

Used Windows ME for years then got a copy of XP. Thought WOW what a difference. Got Vista x64 now and think WOW what a difference.

Vista is good. Very stable. Easy to use.

Will NOT be changing back.

That's fine. I'm not looking for a fight here but what are you going to do when they stop support for XP? It's already in "extended" support I think. In about a year, you will have to work to get updates. Are you going to use it as long as you can and then switch?

Looking at it logically, there will always be those people who don't like change and are happy with the OS they use as long as it does the job they want, after all people are still using Win95 and Win98, not to mention ME (spit).

Resistance to change is a human failing, that there is no cure for.

I'd like to see M/S withdraw Vista basic, its a poor example of what Vista is, and one of the reasons many people using it were disappointed with Vista.

This is true. If I had Vista Basic I would be disappointed too. The XP users are going to have to learn Vista/7 sometime. There's no rush but when people buy a new computer.....to downgrade to XP? I don't understand that. Then to sue because there is a fee? That is resistance to change all right.

I am not looking to fight either. Everyone has their own opinions on it and will use it as long as they possible can. Most people are use to it and don't like changes or don't like how much ram Vista uses.

Yes I am going to use it as long as I can before I switch. Right now I wanted to test Vista x64 on my Desktop PC but don't care for it so going back to XP Pro.

Oh dear... Well, I prefer WinXP over Vista, and Win98SE over WinXP.

If I could play Everquest, after repairing my Amiga A3000, I would go back to that computer.

I doubt the Sinclair ZX-81 I once owned would be up to online games though. Why yes, I did have the 16 kilobyte ram pack. I just hated the cassette tape interface, 7 minutes to load or save a program.

After using Window 7 on an old Pentuim 4 (512MB Ram) machine for a few days.....I think it's going to win you XP lovers over. It runs about as good as XP does on the same hardware and is WAY-WAY-WAY better. It will help you XP lovers to get used to the user interface of Vista before you move to "7".

Windows 7 is going to be the best OS Microsoft has developed (in my opinion) You are going to love it. It makes XP seem even more obsolete than Vista does.

Lets face facts....XP is going to fade away (by force if not choice)

The bright side is, Windows 7 will be waiting for you XP lovers. After 2 months of using Windows 7, you will wonder why you loved XP so much.

I love XP!

I have XP on one machine and Vista x64/Windows 7 x64 on my laptop in dual-boot.
I guess I am use to XP and I use XP at work (Monday-Friday) so that's why I love it probably.

I like WinXP as well. The 'you don't have permission' thing on Vista, when I am the only user, is unacceptible. I would love a way to get rid of Aero.

While Vista has its pluses, I prefer XP.

( Edit: not Why Vista, but While Vista)
