^ That pretty much kills the theory that beings would be able to approach any significant speed. Forgetting that, even if beings were able to reach light speed, there's still too much distance to travel.

Aliens could have started the race thousands of years ago... hell, I'll even give you millions of years ago... distance is still too great.

I'd just like to add that the speed of light might not be a problem. FTL communication is being worked on using quantum entanglement, and it's been mathematically shown there are ways to get around the speed of light and travel distances at multiples of C.

While we're probably a good 1000+ years away from actually being able to do so, but that civilization with a million years jump on us might have figured it out
