Latest AMD Catalyst Video Drivers for Vista

Re: Latest ATI Catalyst Video Drivers

when installing 9.3 i was getting the CLI. and the MOM. errors. what worked for me was to, without uninstalling my previous verion, do the custom install and installing the new CCC first without the drivers and when it went through error free I went back and did the same but this time i unchecked the CCC and just installed the drivers (along with reinstalling the stuff you cant uncheck) and this also went through error free. I make no promises but thats what worked for me...

Re: Latest ATI Catalyst Video Drivers

Tried to install suite 9.4 w/CCC and wo/CCC. On both occasions I received a "Disk Full" error (Have over 300GB available), and the V8.60 driver does not install but the CCC does.

Re-install suite 9.2 w/CCC and V8.582 is installed without any problem. Never installed V9.3.

Currently using two video cards with two monitors. An HD4850 and an old x1300.

Does 9.4/V8.60 no longer support x1300 cards? Unable to find answer to this question. If it still supports it, then any idea on why the install problem?

Thanks.

Re: Latest ATI Catalyst Video Drivers

any idea on why the install problem?

Thanks.

Yes ATI broke the CAT installation again... :p

Here's how to fix it:

Run the installation and let CCC install again without the drivers. Then go to:

Device manager > Display adapters > update driver software.

THEN:

Browse my computer for driver software > Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer > Have disk

Then point it to:

C:\ATI\Support\9-4_vista64_win7_64_dd_ccc_wdm_enu\Driver\Packages\Drivers\Display\LH6A_INF.CH_78303.inf

Hopefully the drivers and CCC will both be installed :)

EDIT: It looks like support for the x1300 may have been dropped with 9.4. The last driver to officially support it is 9.3.

Re: Latest ATI Catalyst Video Drivers

I have an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3670 on my Dell Studio XPS 16 laptop. Does anyone know who to get the ATI catalyst Centre working with this device under Vista 64? I have the latest driver installed, but when I try to download the Catalst centre in installs the Catalyst manager but nothing else.

Re: Latest ATI Catalyst Video Drivers

hello Gazzajagman and welcome..
is this Vista SP1 correct?
if not then can you update to SP1

else can you try compatibilty mode? (in CCC there is no real difference between OS its the driver...)
else if you want, you can also download the 9.4 beta installation and replace the apps directory with the regular 9.4 app
the install apps are on this directory...
X:\ATI\Support\9-4_vista64_win7_64_dd_ccc_wdm_enu\Driver\Packages\Apps
or
X:\ATI\Support\9-4_vista32-64_ccc_lang1\Packages\Apps
where X is the place you put extracted the CCC install...
copy these here
X:\ATI\Support\9-4_beta_win7_64_dd_CC\Packages\Apps
where X is the place you put extracted the beta Catalyst install...

delete all this here and replace it with the the ones from the original 9.4...
just in case the drivers get replaced
do the samething you did to update your drivers...

OK, I used the Mobility Modder hack....works like a treat!

Still no dice for me; the only part that installed this time was the CCC and ATI Registration. I'm still very pissed about this.

What is this Mobility Modder you referenced and where can I find it?

I would update to the newest drivers. They have a page with previous versions so if you dont like the new CCC version you could uninstall it then reinstall the 8.6 version.

I tend to update to new drivers as a lot of the time, newer drivers do yield a bit of a performance increase in games.

Re: Latest ATI Catalyst Video Drivers

bompa_dave
I am unsure as to the exact problems you are having. I have the sapphire 3870x2, sold one off cause needed the money more then the xfire. What I found worked best was to completely uninstall all ATI software then use the custom install each time I updated versions. If you try a clean install then that might help clear up some of what ever problem you have. Keep in mind that the fan speed option will not work on the card as there was some sort of flash problem that requires a reflashing of the card, I DO NOT recommend doing that! Use Riva Tuner to adjust the fan speed. With the custom install it allows you more control over what will actually be done so you can avoid conflicts from program errors. This may not be the correct place to list the problems for the 3870x2 but as you posted you had some issues I felt it would be ok to reply here.

Re: Latest ATI Catalyst Video Drivers

I am not fond of ASUS MB's, I have had better luck with Gigabyte, but that is just me. The games you prefer are they Nvidia or ATI design? Have you tweaked the 3870 to the game and tuned the games to optimal selections? I do not game much as my system is mainly for video use. I am very happy that you have it all worked out and the card is somewhat:sarc: working for you.
