Hi,
Mine is a Dell desk top XPS/Dimension 410/9200 [Dimension ViiV Dual Core E6400 2.13Ghz, 1066Mhz]
This came with a Media Card Reader 13-in-1 Internal.

I have problem in reading latest SanDisk SDHC 4GB Card [used in digital Camera] in my computer.

I went into my Device Manager and looked under Disk Drives and it has
TEAC USB HS-CF Card USB Device
TEAC USB HS-MS Card USB Device
TEAC USB HS-SD Card USB Device
TEAC USB HS-xD/SM USB Device
All of the above has the following
driver detail : Microsoft Driver
date 21/06/2006
Driver:6.0.6001.18000

I find this in Dell's site:
TEAC CA200 HH 13-1 Card Reader. There are TEAC Driver and Firmfare available. I do not know the make of my Media Card Reader.

Am I safe to install one of the above? If so which one should I install.
I am very greatful for your advice.
Thanking you

Hi Snowshine,

I guess that if you had a manual you wouldn't have asked!

To find out for sure you will probably have to take out the drive and have a look for the model no. probably on the underside.

I dont know if it will only need driver or firmware, try the driver first

Have you perhaps a usb cable for your camera. This way works just as well, it will show up as another drive.

If nothing else, by using usb to camera you will at least see for sure if your problem lies with the card or the drive.

I hope this helps

Hi snowshine,

Is your card reader working otherwise? Not all readers can read SDHC cards, although newer models should be able to. Yours may fall into the former category. However, all is not lost. Some SDHC cards are sold with readers that can be plugged into a spare USB slot, and you can access the contents of the card that way. Here are some links from Amazon (UK): Amazon.co.uk: sdhc reader

:DHi pooch-
You are spot on with your statements. I do not own a manual. I will have to take it a part to identify the number ect.
Yes,It does work when I connect the camera with a usb cable and shows up as another drive.
I have installed the driver and still the card is not readable independently but with the card in the camara & camera connected with a USB cable the photos are accessible.

Hi Dwarf
You are correct.
I also have another camera that uses CF card and this CF card works fine on my internal-13-in 1 card reader.:D

I adore this site for sooooo helpful .
Thank you very much indeed.
