You got me wrong, I don't want you to change the avatar. I know you like very much your present one, so keep it. However if you think about swapping the avatars, I think, I saw nice sun when i was on hunt for my one. I will have to look for it again. :)

I agree, probably Realtek. I had to get the drivers from the motherboard disc.

Hi Dinesh,

Well, I have to tell I've got something, it is for Vista and XP. It is the Sigmatel Driver for your mobo. I know that on Intel boards they use Sigmatel drivers. I have them on my machines.

This is the first one
Download Sigmatel STAC HD Audio Driver 6.10.5362.0 Driver for Windows Vista - Softpedia

Here is the second one for Vista
Download the Sigmatel STAC 9200 series audio driver 6.1 for Windows Vista

The third one is for XP but it might work. You Know magic is real, really.
Download Intel Desktop Boards Sigmatel STAC 92XX Audio Drivers 006_5682 Driver for Windows 2K / Windows XP - Softpedia
Also, there is need the fix KB901105 to download from Microsoft for 64bit system.

You can try them.

Thanks Martee, i will try all of these and will let you know which one works. By the way, is there a way to check which audio chip is installed for this motherboard(lke Sigmatel or Realtek or something else)?

Dinesh,

Frankly, I've got no idea how to check the board and which driver is needed. Perhaps some kind of software like PCWizard, Everest or maybe driver scanner can find out which driver you need. I will keep looking for them, it must be any one there. :)

Very strange. I ran into this but the mobo disc had what I needed for Realtek. Perhaps getting a sound card is all you can do?

This is really strange. Did you try the driver from my last link I posted? It is for 945 GCL with Vista. If this one does not work, I don't know what will. And In this case as Avgwarhawk was mentioned, you will have to look for any decent sound card for your machine.

When you were in the Sound window, did you click on Properties and set "Use this device"? What about Advanced settings, did you mark the box to "Allow applications to take exclusive control of this device"?

Yep, new sound card should fix you up or a new mobo. All depends on price!

try to uninstall the driver, then reboot ur PC
Hi selim, which driver are you talking about. Read the entire thread. I have uninstalled and reinstalled several drivers but i can hear sound when a headphone is plugged at the front. So by this i conclude that the audio port on the motherboard has gone bad.
