Hi,
I have problems with Active X on one site i use [Ancestry.co.uk]
When i right click on the page to copy or email the only thing that appears are properties & if i want to email[from the file button] there is an error message telling me that current security settings prohibit running ActiveX controls and the page may not display correctly.
Normally on other sites i use if i right click i can select save as or email etc or do what i want to do but for some reason this has stopped.......
I have been told the problem could be with the Enhanced Viewer i have downloaded,if so,how do i delete it? I have also been told to do the following........
Open IE, Tools, Options, then select the tab for Security, there
is a button for Custom, click this.
There are a set of boxes marked ActiveX. Make a note of your current
settings – you might want to go back to them. Then change them all to
Disable.
Restart the Pc and go to Ancestry. Without the ActiveX working, you
should get an option to view using the normal viewer which allows you
to right click.
However,as i'm not 100% sure if this is correct i am wary in doing this,is there anyone that can help me sort this problem?
I am not a computer wizz,so please explain to me in easy to follow language
Many thanks,
Kaz.
