Problems with the primary DNS server

I have been having problems with my internet connection over the past few days, and i'm not really sure what else to do. Whenever i try to connect to my wireless internet i connect and can surf the internet fine for about fifteen minutes or so, afterwards it says i'm connected to the internet but web pages time out and i can go to no other websites and such. Then my connection turns to local only, after diagnosing the problem several times i get the same message saying windows cannot connect to the primary dns server. ive tried power cycling the modem and my router, which connects me to the internet from about five minutes to an hour or so, but the problem keeps repeating. Also the computer which is connected directly to our broadband connection has been working fine all day except for when i try to connect and it seems to mess with the entire internet connection. Im not really that computer savvy so i thought someone here knew of similar problems, ill try to provide what information i can give if you can tell me what i need to give

Try updating your network adapter's driver...


You can do this through the "device manager".

Type "device manager" into your Search bar,

go to Network adapters,

select the adapter by clicking it,

Click the "Action" tab and select "Update Driver Software"...
