Also when i did a test with sis sandra for memory bandwidth. It tells me all about the ram. It says Total Memory = 4gb, and then memory used by test = 2gb
does this mean that only 2 gb can be used and the other 2gb is either bad or not compaitable, or does it mean that 2gb only needed for the test or its the max supported for that test?

It also says under tips

System bandwidth appears fsb limited. Attempt to increase fsb

and

Cannot use large memory pages due to lack of privilages

ok more silly questions , searching OCZ site throws up three types it could be with the info from CPUz

OCZ Technology | Products | Memory | OCZ DDR2 PC2-6400 Gold GX XTC Dual Channel

OCZ Technology | Products | Memory | OCZ DDR2 PC2-6400 Vista Performance Gold 4GB Dual Channel

OCZ Technology | Products | Memory | OCZ DDR2 PC2-6400 Vista Performance Gold Edition

which one do you have?

the first one will operate safely at 1.9V the second 2 at 2.1V (they are all 1.8v by default but dont worry about that)

see sometimes the reported voltage and actual voltage can be differant also some motherboards can fall short of "getting enough juice" to the ram to make it work effectively so we need to up the voltage to the ram to eliminate that as a possibility as to why its not working , now after we tested it this way if its still failing its RMA time (return to manufacturer)

in which case you will have to go here OCZ Forum - Powered by vBulletin and post your problem in the support section , they will then talk you through all the tests and if the deem your ram to be faulty they will give you an RMA number so you can return your ram for new stuff (OCZ has a lifetime warrenty and they are very good at the customer service end)

dont worry about me asking you too up the voltage to the ram i wont ask you to up it any further than OCZ's warrenty allows :)

i have a problem......ive just found out your overclocking your cpu!! what cpu/ram ratio are you running? what speed is your ram currently running at now? it may be unstable due to the OC you bloody clown ;) ;) ;) ;)

anyhoo , you can safely up the voltage to your ram to 2.1 volts (OCZ will warrenty it up to that limit for overclocking purposes) it will be in the advanced settings in your bios under (beleive it or not) voltage ;)

you normally up it ny steps of .1 of a volt you can up yours by a max of .3 , thats POINT 3 not 3 (i have to point this out as i was cought out by a moron once who thought i asked him to up the voltage to his ram by 5 volts!!)

I have to go now and watch the X factor with the wife , ill check in later good luck :)
