That is a good recovery for a formatted hd with a new OS installed, I would say you are lucky:D

Believe me, I was as surprised as you are, heck... perhaps even more

Aside from some MOV files that I was not able to recover, I would say they will be extremely happy.

So, finally what software did you use to recover these files?

Well, I was using "Recover my files" but this was within the same pc that had been reformatted.

I used it again on my pc having the reformatted drive as a slave and this is how I was able to get even more files.
