Registry repair?

Do the above sites scan and then make you pay to remove or repair them?

I lost a game I had downloaded the other day from Game Giveaway of the Day site.
I also lost my Advanced System Care than scans for problems. Everything else seems to be "oK"

they are free. and will hopefully repair any damage if it exists.

the viral scan is NOD32 and will scan/clean free

the others are Windows built in utilities.

What antivirus do you use?
Advanced WindowsCare Personal (system care) does not appear to be a certified product. Protection offered by it may be subpar.

This is a free one that is pretty good (best in 2008 (antivir) Av-comparatives lab testing:

Ouch... I uninstalled Advanced Care! I use Avast (free) I do like it.

Ps- Advanced Systemcare has a registry cleaner. This may have caused corruption that would have led to the issues you were having. The restore would have "undone" any registry damage. I would think twice about re-installing this program, and Instead go with either Avira or Avast. both are free, and you also have Windows Defender antimalware.

to scan with Defender:
start>in search, type defender>click program

at top, click arrow next to "scan" and do a full scan

Did you perform a system file scan and the disk check I linked you to?

You also need to run "windows Update" you are a month behind on security updates, and new updates were released today.

Not yet. Am going to do a defrag before bed... hopefully it will be done by morning. :D
