Hi, I have a question with E-mail.
I was wondering if after the 2 years I've had this computer if I should change from my Yahoo! & Gmail accounts to Windows Mail, if that's possible.
What are the pro's and con's of switching to Windows Mail?

Hi Rance, I am unsure about Yahoo but you can access Gmail via Windows Mail. To use Windows mail you still need a provider whether it be your internet provider or the likes of Gmail so i dont see any reason to change anything except enabling your provider from within Windows mail. Here is a tutorial on enabling pop gmail within windows mail

Look at all the posts where people have trouble with their mail and you should be warned. Any mail system where the files are stored on your own system is no good. I use AOL since many years and have never lost a piece of mail because it is all stored upstream - and they can take much better care of it than I ever could. Plus I have full access to everything from any point in the world and any system.

I believe in running and receiving email programs on MY computer instead of having them in a web-based system that's easier to hack. Windows Mail can handle your GMail AND leave a copy of your email on GMail's server if you like as a backup.

I would recommend Windows Live Mail (desktop program) over Windows Mail though. It has to be a personal choice for each user.
