Skype download

My sister has a Dell Inspiron 531 with Vista Home Premium. McAfee is her anti-virus. When downloading Skype she gets to the Save as and Save and then seems to go get into a repeat sequence of saving but no completion of download. I found a web site where a version of McAfee wold allow certain programs to download and Skype was among them. My sister's version of McAfee does not seem to offer this option. Has anyone experience which might offer a solution to this problem. Point by point would be appreciated. Thanks.

This may sound simplistic but ...
Disable McAfee, d/l and install Skype, then re-enable McAfee.

I asked my sister to do that. She could not find the option to disable it. She does not seem to have the little icon to right click. Since we live thousands of miles apart there is a problem with "do it" Thanks lemur for your suggestion. Hopefully we may persevere.
