My computer is Acer Aspire AM5621-E5612A that came with Realtek Highdef Audio. Since last week there's been an 'x' mark on the speaker icon in the taskbar and can't do anything with that. When I right-click on the speaker icon and click on "Open Volume Mixer", it says "no audio device is installed". Clicking on Playback Devices, Recording Devices or Sounds, don't show up anything. When I place the cursor on the speaker icon, the bubble says: Volume: 0 Speakers: Realtek Highdef Audio. In Control Panel->Hardware and Sound->Sound, there's no sound icon and nothing happens when I click on any of the three options: Adjust, Change, Manage. In Device Manager->Sound, Video and game Controllers, I have three devices: AMD Highdef Audio Device, Cyberlink Webcam Virtual Driver, Realtek Highdef Audio. When I click on any of them, it says that the devices are working properly but all of them have "?" marks on them. All the things happened when last week I lost the sound completely for no reason. The sound came back when I updated Realtek audio driver with the latest Realtek HD Audio Manager. When I right-click Realtek Audio Manager icon in taskbar and click on Volume Control, I get the same message: No Audio Device is installed. What could be the reason for that and how can I get all the sound devices back as before? Thanks!
I get the message that I have the latest drivers. Even though I uninstalled the hardwares in Device Manager & rebooted. The drivers were installed but having the same issue, no change!
