Start up Graphics Glitch 4850

Can you install and older driver? Yes
Do you still have pixels? The pixels appear on start-up until a graphics required program (Chess)
Are you getting error codes? No
Have you thought about RMAing the video card? RMAing is?
What "other" problems still exist? Pixels on startup
Do you still suspect a faulty MB? The motherboard is new, whilst I suspect this, I lack the technical knowledge to be able to eliminate if it's the Graphics card or Mobo, until I'm sure, they'll just blame eachother.

Help us help you.

I've not had a problem with the drivers until I tried this new Jan 09 driver. My old problem has been fixed but not using the Catalyst Control Centre, this being the only working fix for my previous issue. I included it as it's a related issue and might help in working out my current issue.
