Yes it will come down the pipe to WU eventually. It's no big deal really. I disabled VirusScan just in case, but it installed quite easily.

I have checked Task scheduler, & everything`s fine there. It`s scheduled to create a restore point everyday at midnight, & another restore point at Start up.
I`ll try changing the allocated Maximum Shadow copy storage space, which at the moment is 4.434 GB. I think I`ll extend it to 10 GB, for example?
Because it has "eaten" another restore point today: had 3 yesterday, only two today (both of them only for the 3rd July: Scheduled check point & Windows update restore point). It`s so frustrating, cos everythin else seems fine, I`ve been troubleshooting this problem since November, have read a milliom posts in all kinds of forums about System restore & still cannot find what`s wrong.
Oh, well...

I've never used a schedule for SR but I assume you are doing it as per http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/1...-change-automatic-restore-point-schedule.html
I just let the system create them as and when it decides, unless I have a particular reason.

Yes, that`s the Tutorial I followed. But I didn`t change anything, everything was properly set on Task scheduler. I just though I`ll check it because I read on the microsoft website that may be my computer wasn`t creating enough restore points or it might be creating too many (as the cause for my problem), but it`s all fine.
THanks.

No worries, you have help me! At least I tested more things that could be wrong (like third party software etc...).
I`m gonna increase the allocated maximum shadow copy storage space (which at the moment is 4.434 GB) to 15 GB, & see how that goes.
Thanks for your help!! :)

Hi again! This was the solution to my problem. Apparently my 4 GB wasn`t enough space. After increasing it, it started keeping all the restore points, & today I saw that box that you need to tick if you want to choose from restore points older than five days.
So this was the solution.
Thanks a lot for your help & I hope this helps someone else with my problem!!

Did that help out in stopping the deletion of Restore Points?

Sorry, I haven`t checked the forum in ages! It did help to stop the deletion of restore points, cos they were deleted cos of lack of memory. So increasing the memory, now I got a week`s worth of restore points, which is enough for me. It does take 15Gb out of my computer`s memory, if you want the restore points to go further back, then you`ll need to increase even more. Hope this helps!
