Loooong way to go, and with the light use of VF lately, that will probably be impossible, lol.

I've been playing Everquest off and on since 2004. A week ago they went free 2 play. I created a f2p account and character. I tried the f2p options, I prefer my paid account.

Toady I realised I've got my third medal :)

I've also done some serious damage to my bank balance. In a moment of madness, I splashed out on a GoPro Hero2 helmet camera. I'm going away skiing from the 30-7th April, so it should get a lot of use :) Hopefully I'll have some funny crashing clips to show you all.

Gunna be a challenge to get a CPU for it, no idea what socket that is. Looks like 1155 but eh.

No probs Tom :)

Decided that I'm gunna ditch that mobo, as nice as it looks. It's going to cost me alot to kit it out with RAM and a CPU, unless anyone knows of some cheap Socket 1155 CPU's? Lol
Will keep hold of it, though. Might come in use sometime in the future.

For now I'm looking for a Mini-ITX board that'll support Socket 775, has a PCI-E x16 slot so I can use the raid card, and is cheap. HELP D:

Quiet easy work day.

On a side note, I just noticed something a bit ago.
With all the TV channels "editing" out violence and scenes in movies, it's almost not worth having a tv anymore.
I don't watch much other than sports, but Star Wars: ROTJ is on Spike, and I turned it on just to have some background noise. (I have the movies, seen them a million times).
They actually cut 2 scenes out....it's FRIGGIN Star Wars! Sure the scenes they cut weren't that big of a deal, but man, how stupid and touchy are we becoming where we have to edit movies that people have been watching for 30 years.

Posting this from my new installation on my PC.

Today was a nice easy day at work, got the stuff we wanted to do done, like moving the rest of the RM servers out of the server room, and fixing a WOL problem in one of the classrooms, kinda.
My Chicken Roll turned into a Big Mac meal Large, I owe my boss for that one, he's awesome.
Got off early too, 3PM, and my mum came and picked me up, bonus ;D

Atm, I'm just sitting around, messing with the desktop effects on here. I'll let you guys try and guess what OS it it, it's not what you think ;D

Ewww, the SS's turned out really small. Will try again.

Nope :)

It's Macbuntu. I installed it on my Memory stick with LiLi at first, I liked it so I installed it on one of my old installation drives. I have no idea what was on it, but if there was anything, I haven't needed to access it in the past year lol.

If you've got a spare memory stick not being used for anything, I'd advise doing this. It's already come in handy for when I can't get a computer that I'm using to boot, so I just boot from the stick, and hey, it's just like having an ubuntu live CD, but on a memory stick.
I've read that you can install it with Persistance, so any changes or docs you create save. So you could carry around a desktop machine with you anywhere you go.
I haven't been able to get this to work so far, but I've got some more memory stick on the way to play around with.

When LiLi installs the memory stick, it will install a portable version of VirtualBox, so you can either use the stick virtually, or boot the computer to it. Useful. :)

Time for an update:

Hello guys,

I know I haven't been posting on here a while now. Well, I have been a bit busy with LearnDirect as I am doing a ITQ Level 2 course which includes Word, Excel and Access. I recently finished Word with 92% result. I'm now about halfway through the Excel bit and dealing with formulas and charts at the moment. I do this at Hastings Library, which as a very good LearnDirect centre, with one-to-one tutor support when you need it. I'm still doing pole dance sessions at the local gay bar, but I'm not making enough for it to be a career.

About my Dad's health:

He is still doing quite well, but he needs weekly injections from the nurse at the local doctor's surgery in Battle. They are a bit concern about his kidneys, as something (I am not good with medical names etc) is sometimes high or low. But the funny thing is that he looks resonably healthy and that comes from our local GP.

So there you go guys, I will keep you updated a bit more often.

Great job with your Word result! And good luck with the others, I'm sure you'll do really well. If I remember correctly, it wasn't all that long ago when you started this job, so hopefully you'll earn more the longer you work there as you're gaining experience :)

I'm glad to hear that he's doing well :) I've done a fair bit of work experience in hospitals and it's amazing to the see the sort of treatments that are now available!

Welcome back mate!

Yeah, getting free food is always great!

Last night;
Fired up my ML server and hosted a couple of game servers on there for some testing, I also put that drive cage in there. It looks messy and ugly, but it works. Pic HERE
The top drive is a 500GB sata, the other 3 are 147GB 15K SAS, tried to make a raid config from all the drives, ended up doing 2 500GB-ish volumes, then creating a stripped array inside Windows to give me 850/900GB of space.

Today;
Going to fire it up again and test the drives. Atm it's plugged into the Gigabit switch under my desk, so going to copy some folders and files, about 20GB's worth, to the new drives, just to see how fast they are, and how fast gigabit is.
Will go back to hosting after that, we're testing some maps for the SAMP servers. :)

Today I finally recovered from the jetlag and I had a little free time, so I begun cutting down the ridiculous amount of videos that I took. I think the total came to 9 hours, or 49GB  I'm still not quite sure how I'm going to sort the videos, but I've uploaded my worst crash for a friend to see, so I might as well share it here:

I don't think I've ever winded myself so badly - luckily I'm fine, but I didn't feel it at the time ;)

The video itself is 60fps at 720p, I'm still trying to work out how it's ended up being so jerky at 480p on YouTube

I hope you had a good holiday! I have never actually been skiing, but it looks fun!

I can certainly sympathise with being winded! I did it once really badly whilst climbing. Landed straight on my back, from quick high up. I just kept breathing out and out and out. I just could not stop, and it was horrible. My lungs were in so much pain towards the end, and still I couldn't stop.

The climbing wall has an incredibly fast and slick response in case of an accident, and I noticed that I was breathing out long enough for the Centre Manager to have appeared from upstairs, and for them to have found my parental consent and next of kin forms from reception!

Eventually it ended, and I just lay there for a little while shivering from the shock and the pain in my stomach and lungs, and back (that was a separate injury from the same fall, parents told me to man up - I did, desperately trying not to make a sound on the way home as I was bumped around in the car - the most terrible pain that I have ever felt, with the pressure of being shouted at). I am still not entirely sure what I did that night, except that I get terrible back pain in this exact same spot, central (not muscular), whenever I bend over in one direction or take a fall or knock it - (one of the reason I never take rugby as a sport!). I don't care what other people think, they don't know how painful it was, and still is - I injured something that night. I'll get it checked out in two years time when I go to uni.

I can understand quite well what you must have gone through!
