USB Composite Device (dc3d) KVM Issues - CLOSED
I have an "IOGEAR Micro USB Plus KVM" switch that has always been recognized as a "Generic Hub" and a "USB composite device". Connected to the KVM I have a "Microsoft Wireless Keyboard 6000 v3" keyboard and a "Logitech MX Revolution" mouse, which are also considered composite devices.
When trying to install the update, the installation would sometimes fail with error codes of "Time out" and "Out of Items".
Regaurdless if it failed or succeeded, the original driver would get replaced. The KVM switch would now be recognized as a "USB composite device (dc3d)" yet regaurdless what I had connected to it (USB wireless or not), nothing would work.
The KVM switch basically would not work anymore. Shutting down Vista caused a BSOD (with some STOP error of TIMEOUT). And Vista could not startup unless the KVM Switch was unplugged. To fix this I uninstalled the driver (removing it from the system) and the KVM switch went back to working normally.
Has anyone had this problem? Was anyone able to update this driver when using the IOGEAR KVM? Does anyone have any suggestions on how I could possible get this update working properly?
I'm unable to install this update without the KVM being plugged in, which might be what's causing the problem. Either way, it's not a big deal, though I would like to get the update installed since it does have some updates for the latest USB composite devices.
