Vista installation problem,, i need help ASAP

i just used the Dell media direct re installation CD to partition my HDD and then i installed the vista very smoothly
as simple as that :D

Glad it worked for you.

I must have not understood your earlier post.

I thought you could not get to the partition screen while installing from the Dell disc.

Or did you boot the Dell dvd to the System recovery options and use the command prompt to do the partitioning?

no,, earlier when i try to install i get the error message and when i try to repair i get that there are no hard drive to install on it,, first i formatted the HDD through the command prompt and nothing happened, then i used Dell media direct re installation CD ,, and there is an option of partitioning in that CD which i used and then ABRACADABRA every thing went just fine..
