Hmm, I am loathe to suggest that you perform a repair install or startup repair as it is in the middle of an update - however, at this point, with it not booting at all in either safe mode or normal mode that may be the last option.

When you pressed the F8 to get to safe mode, did you also have Last Known Good? Try that and see if it helps.

Another possibility would be to use the startup repair and then go to System restore....

startup repair couldnt fix the problem =[

safe mode didnt chnge anything and neither did last known good configuration
i tried a debugging mode startup too...none worked.

i think the only way might be to boot from a disk
and i dont have anything to do that with

Hi,
Try a restore point using a recovery CD ( see option 1 there: http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/141820-create-recovery-disc.html )

When (if) repared, to check if you have a problem with your TCP/IP stack, just ping 127.0.0.1
Anyway, you can reset TCP/IP sending this command under an elevated command prompt (CMD run as admin): netsh int ip reset

I have developed the exact same problem as the kid - I could just return the computer, but am afraid the same thing will happen again! HELP!!!
