[VISTA] Profili Hardware

Hi, I want to know if anyone know where is the "Hardware Profiles" section in Windows Vista (ultimate). In XP I used this section to test enabling/disabling windows services without modifing the "default" profile and I need it also in Vista.
Anyone can help me?

ciao, volevo sapere se avete idea di che fine abbiano fatto i famosi "Profili Hardware" di xp in Vista (Ultimate)... erano il modo più comodo per crearsi ambienti con servizi personalizzati in base all'uso che si intendeva fare del pc (profilo Gioco/prestazioni/sicurezza.. ) nonchè un ottimo modo per riprendere il sistema dopo una errata gestione dei servizi..

Sapete in vista dove sono?

Hi Magnoicola,

I believe you are referring to Device Manager. You can find it in the Control Panel by clicking on Classic View in the upper left corner and then click Device Manager.

Is there not some type of work-around? By profession I am a software engineer, I compose music as a hobby, and of course I play games. The software development tools I use install a myriad of services that I'd rather not have running while I'm using a processor-intensive audio sampler, or playing a game. Hardware profiles enabled me to effectively simulate three different machines. I susupect this kind of requirement is typical. Surely microsoft did not drop this feature without providing a replacement to satisfy the functional requirement.
