Hey Sid I hope you Are here...i downloaded the Vista repair and followed your 1st instructions and unchecked the compress the drive to save space and so on..then i hit apply and ok and it said I would need admin priv. i said ok then it said syntax error?? and a bunch of numbers and letters so i hit ignore and now its still at the C:/ properties with the purple and blue circle pie. What now? do I just wait? it doesn't appear to be doing anything..Please I hope your there. Hally

My Computer

I just stayed up all night trying to do this. I used utorrent to download the vista repair cd.. but i don't think it worked..I used a imgburn and it seemed to work but when I put it in the laptop it did nothing even when i changed the boot order. i am just so frustrated! And dissappointed. i cant believe its not easier,i cant understand how to do any of the instructions to burn and then it says the disc is not rewritable..I found 1 that was and it looked like it worked. i even tried the file transfer from this laptop(dads) to mine..didn't work..:( I love vista but this is jacked up!

Did you download correct one? x86? not x64?
Did you change it boot sequence to boot form CD-rom? It should have booted form CD, you must have done something wrong. Try again.

No, you have tu use the one corresponding to your Vista.

what about these options under tools..like error checking? or hardware? should i try that? how do i reboot? sorry newbie?

Verify first that the recovery cd used corresponds to you Vista (32 bit normally)

No, the load drivers button just allows you to get the C:\ drive so that you can try to decompress it.

So, ensure you downloaded/burnt the right CD
Try again an note exactly the errors in case of.

If it does not work, i think it will be quicker for you, as it is a new install, to perform a clean install.
Contact your brother and ask him to reinstall Vista;)

it is not 84 is is actually x86 which is marking/identifying 32 bit system architecture......:D
x64 is for 64 bit architecture

you need to go back and download file that has x86 not x64

oh yeah forgot about the two walmarts also. both of them also at each end of the town.

Moreno Valley was the highest growing city in the US about a year or two ago but now it has the most foreclosure rates of homes..
