So what should I do if it's overheated?

Overheating Computer - How to Detect and Fix

I AM SURE THAT YOU DO NOT HAVE A SERIOUS PROBLEM, YET. I am just trying to treat your computer the way I would treat mine.

The suggestion about lap top cooler is good. Not expensive and it will help even if you are not over heating.

Dont worry. I did not mean to imply that there is a serious problem now. We just do not want one.

I know that. But when it does, I would check the temp with that software. We will continue tomorrow getting late now.

Wow, if it was on for 3 months straight, then maybe the CPU did fry. I would check the RAM first though, to rule them out, and then any other hardware.

Get in touch with someone who knows comps. Good luck.

Richc46, thanks for that admiration, You're pretty good at support yourself, and you're a very kind person. :)

Thanks for the compliments. What are your thoughts? You mentioned other areas, I am really leaning toward overheating, do you agree? If not, what do you feel is the most likely cause or just check everything like you mentioned?

Yes, the CPU could have overheated and broke, my Dad's CPU got fried during a lightening storm, and yes his computer was off, lol. I guess he had to unplug it.

The reason I suggest taking out the RAM first is I was in a PC Hardware/Software class, and we repaired computers on a daily basis. These computers that we used had Windows 2000, and yeah, it's the year 2009 in this class, so these computers are a bit old xD. Most of the computers would come in Beeping non stop, and sometimes it was because the RAM was dead, the RAM slot was dead, or a Capacitor on the Mobo was fried... or the Mobo was fried...

Which leads me now to another though... That kid's motherboard may have a fried capacitor on it, which may be why it is continuously beeping, capacitors have like 30,000 - 50,000 hour lifespan, and there's many on a computer, so most of the time, they are the hardware failure of the computer as it ages, but there's no way to fix a capacitor, you gotta replace the whole part.

Jad, not much I can do, it seems to be overheating. You can go with that or you can continue to wait for other suggestions. Sorry, but I have no other advice.
