I am sure that information is correct, however, when referring to start up locations it is usually understood to mean locations that are easily accessible, such as msconfig, which may in actuality may make registry changes. Those locations that can be easily changed.The registry is the brain of the OS, and best to be left alone.

That being said, if you desire to dig into that area and make changes, make sure that you back up the registry. I have a lot of posts to my credit and very many of the problems are caused by those that try to change of fix the system via the registry.
