I have purchased a copy of SpeedyPC Pro, which is supposed to fix sxs errors. Time will tell I guess. As I said I ran the sxstrace, it came up with an .etl format, I have found a site that has allowed me to up load the .etl http://db.tt/i5R7p2w9 and the notepad http://db.tt/uxsFy0Cn

Since I have run SpeedyPC Pro I have re run the sxstrace, here is the .txt file http://db.tt/RlxprBj8

I still don't know whether or not the problem has been fixed, I rebooted my PC last night.

I don't know what the log is saying. Perhaps Richc46 or others might be able to interpret it.

Are you running SP2?

Yes (to SP2) and shhhhh I'm not saying anything don't want to jinx it :zip:

I ended up uninstalling microsoft c++ 2005, microsoft c++ 2008 plus updates and microsoft c++ 2010 plus updates, ran without them for around 12 hours, reinstalled microsoft c++ 2008 plus updates and microsoft c++ 2010 plus updates.

Uptime so far 4days 8hrs 15mins 43secs but :zip:

Uptime 6days 23hrs 48mins 19secs, no sound devices are installed, even though winamp is playing through my speakers, tried to get a screendump, paint opened. but wouldn't save. Tried to open Admin Tools, error message "Windows cannot access specified path or file. You may not have appropriate permission to access them" I am the Admin :(

Time to reboot
