I am facing problems with my laptop, I have vista home basic and it intend to hang up always when explorer is opened for a while. Please help me with the problem,

Nikhil
i have the 3gb ram and 300 gb HD on my laptop, i have been using the laptop since 6 and more months now, after using some time had downgraded the OS to XP and then Upgraded it back to Vista as the feel was not satisfactory.
As I have never done that before I wouldn't know the effects that would have if any. Did it just start doing it all of a sudden? Have you ran a malware scan and run Disk Defragmenter just to rule that out?
Well, its not the affect of downgrade and upgrade, its always been better, the only problem with Vista i have facing that forced me to infact downgrade was the explorer being hanged plenty times, rest every thing with vista is satisfactory. only concern is about the explorer hanging after using it for some time at a single time.
Yeah, I mean the Superfetch feature might be causing a little of that, but usually that's within the first few weeks of first use. All I can suggest is to check High Performance in Power Options, clean out your temp files/junk,Defrag your drive and registry, make sure some program's not using a ton of memory (Enable DEP), and read this tutorial if you haven't done any of these already.
Some add ons can do this. Try disabling smart BHO class and Java plug in SSV Helper. If these two do not solve prob, disable the ones you do not recognize well...one at a time amd see which one is the culprit
