Hi:

Indeed on April 15, there were more than 12 updates which were all installed successfully. They mostly dealt with security and new virus definitions.
It seems that my system "scans" my outgoing messages and this is what takes so long. I can't find in Microsoft Security Essentials anything that allows me to see if it, indeed, scans outgoing messages.

Thank you for your help.

Hi,
In the post it is stated about the updates on April 15th.
I presume that you were talking about the Windows updates that are released the 2nd Tuesday of each month?

Did you ever check out the updates from Acer:-

I should have made myself more clear, that I was specifically thinking of your wireless/Lan drivers associated with your present problem.

That new updates may indeed be available, and therefore one is able to discount out of date drivers/software as a cause.

From the previous post?
Do I understand correctly that it is connected by ethernet?
If so have you tried a different cable?
Thank you.
