Windows problem reporting has stopped working - Vista 32 bit.

One solution is to save your stuff and reinstall. The problem is very minor however and not really worth taking drastic action

If the message only pops up once after login they can probably live with it. It just performed automatic updates so I know that is still working. I'll open some apps and see if it's otherwise stable.

Just for information, when I click on Windows Error Reporting in Services, I get the Stop, Pause, and Restart options. The last option is what I wanted you to do. What you did is just another way of getting ther.

Also, is "Problem Reports and Solutions" in Services set to manual?

I found this interesting article on Windows Error Reporting-

Windows Error Reporting and the Problem Reports and Solutions Feature in Windows Vista

I see they came out with a Error Recording Problem Steps Recorder tool for detecting problems in Win 7. No indication that it would work in Vista.
