I can connect to my DSL wireless router/modem with my laptops wireless adapter but if I disable it and try connecting with my RJ45 jack it will not obtain an IP from the routers DHCP server. I checked the cabling with another wired computer so that's not it. If I manually assign IP's to two computers on the same hub I can ping back and forth but not the router even though we are all on the same subnet.
I'm stumped but think maybe it has something to do with the DHCP client???
And the router may not respond unless it has given out the ip so manually assigning may not work.
Thanks for any ideas.
